We think of Sapa as we think of the terraces that gild the mountain, H’mong’s khèn (flutes) in the “love” fair, the fresh air, the benign people and the unique culture, the rooftop of Indochina, where the sea of clouds fill your conquering spirits as you witness the rendezvous of the Earth and the sky, household lights glow the whole valley each sunset, creating a piece of arts in the middle of the nature.
The overwhelming speed of tourism development in Sapa is a significant change for local children. To regain the balance for their life in a land full of potential yet lacks of sustainable development, VEO helps provide off campus lessons that include lots of activities for these children.
Sapa – where childhood smiles are well reserved.
VEO, in collaboration with CSO, runs the project Highlands Library in Sapa to help young adults in orientating and skill training for their future job. We also teach English for younger children in a creative way, so that these children can communicate with foreign tourists to Sapa.
Although Sapa is a developed city, its rural parts remain under the poverty line. There are schools with broken roofs, with a challenging path to school in the most literal sense, and without sufficient equipment. Therefore, VEO helps repair the facilities, build canteens so to that poor family can afford schoolings for their children.
A night of cultural exchange, Veo volunteers would gather beside H’mong traditional hearth, together with new friends from diverse backgrounds. Sapa will be a place to record our memories volunteering together.
Join the volunteer network of more than 12000 members who stand with VEO to bring education to the little village. Volunteers will work as a team and reunite in the reunion night, where certificates are handed to the volunteers on a sparkling stage
